Hmmmmmmmmm.........it plum gets my mouth to waterin' every time I think of Spam. The museum http://www.spam.com/museum/spam_museum.aspx is only about 70 miles as the crow files, from Winona. I like my browned and cheeseburger style. Maybe there should be a contest for most Delicious/Disgusting Spam recipe. be there or be square.

Sounds great to me....I can't wait to get there. Spam museum and "Also know as the Stain Glass Capital of the United States!", what else could you want. Glad to hear it is not on top of a mountain. I am still hating that part of this year's MME. FWIW, with the right number of classic Minis and a few unsuspecting riders, we could change it from the stained glass capitol to the stained @$$ capitol of the world! If you don't understand that one, just ask me about the newspaper guy that wanted to do a story on my Cooper back in Texas. Gave him a white knuckle ride that he never forgot. And then there was the hotel manager that went for a "Depends" ride with Hrach in the yellow Moke in 97.

OK, guys and gals. Winona proper is indeed flat right in town. However it is surrounded by wooded bluffs that are high enough to impress and very scenic. Lots of twisty roads around the area as well. Don't worry, the Meet won't be right in the middle of town. We know the host hotel doesn't have the largest banquet space. We've got other options for the banquet that are larger and a lot larger. The host hotel ballroom will be used for other indoor needs at the meet. Looks like there's a lot of enthusiasm out there and we're working to make this meet one of the best ever. The people in Winona are happy to have us, too. Hope to see you all there. We'll be adding more info to the web site and opening registration for this meet in the next few months. I've had my route planned since I found out the location about a year ago. For all those who are coming from the North/East there is a high speed ferry that takes you across Lake Michigan. It leaves Muskegan and lands at Milwaukee. I figure it cuts at least 8 hours from the trip around the lake. The only thing holding me back from booking a room is the exact location of the Meet central area. Flat is OK. I blew a rad on my tow vehicle in the Clarity Mountains ( Jellico ) going down to Tennessee in 2007. Cheers Don " sometimes it's tougher to look than to leap "

Go Rick! Go!! I want you on my team!!! WOOHOOOO. The Mini Event Enthusiasm Award Goes to... Rick, Pooh and Honey Pot!! So if you're even wavering on the idea of going, just think of Rick and how much it would mean to him if you would all go. You even have me thinking about going now. Kristina (Mongrel's owner)

Might not be at any great elevation, Rick, but there are a lot of nice Rocky Mountain Passes between here and there; especially, if you detour a little south. I already have plans for Pike's Peak at 14,110' (again) and the nearby highest paved road in the world at 14,120 feet. On the trip back, it will be Glacier National Park and Going To the Sun Highway.

Winona needs a boost! There are no "friken mountains" - elevation above sea level 655' (lowest) Third Street Also know as the Stain Glass Capital of the United States! Climate Winona's weather station records the warmest climate of any in Minnesota, with a normal year-round average (1971-2000) temperature of 48.9°F,[5] compared to 43.2° in Austin to the city's southwest or 45.4° in Minneapolis, to the northwest, which experiences a strong urban heat island effect. Temperatures are generally very mild by Minnesota standards year-round; the January mean is 17.6°, while that of July is 75.8°. | Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
