Thanks folks!
I thought I saw a slight green tint to my windows. We need all the tint we can get this time of year here.....it's oppressively hot and humid.
Sounds like a light green tint is the proper way to go.
Yes, I will get the wide seal as well.
Any more input is welcome, too!

The British Open Classic was based on Mayfair Plus specification, hence having the slight overall green tint to all the windows (including the front), plus opening rear quarters. The Mayfairs and Coopers had this standard tint, but cheaper Citys and Sprites had plain clear glass. The Limited Editions were based on City Plus, Mayfair Plus, etc; in other words you got the standard features of the Mini model it was nominally based on, plus some extra goodies (e.g. trim, interior, brightwork, stickers, alloys). Of course it doesn't stop anyone from changing all of the glass to exactly what they prefer! Clubman & 1275GT - its hip to be square!

Bought a new windscreen in late 90s that was 10% tinted versus no tint on 70s era Minis. Rubber suround also different design. Mini friends! Mini rides! Restored/modified Mini 1000 with 1380cc power unit, 2.95:1 FD, adj. suspension, S discs/drums, 10x5 Minilites, 165x70 A008s, custom trim and matching custom trailer.

My 95 and 96 have no tint at all. Don't know if that helps. My Mini's are un-officially sponsored by Coor's brewing company.

Hello all,
What style (if any?) of tinting did my '92-spec British Open Classic Mini's windshield come with? Tint at the top? Full light green tint? The present (original?) windshield is littered with chips and APPEARS to have some sort of tinting. But it's so old and hazy that it's hard to pinpoint. I can make out the brand and numbers on the present windshield if that'll help.
I'm going to replace the windshield seal as well-it leaks profusely in hard rain.
Thanks in advance for any and all input!
