I stopped at Auto Zone and they cross refferanced the Stant 11329 and came up with the "Cooling Systems Technologies 7713. It even has a pressure release leaver on top. Fancy schmancy, I'll tell you what.

ve9aa: Yup, it's a conspiracy. Watch out , the black helicopters are circling.

I have my aluminum foil hat on, I think I'm good now.

Didn't get a chance to pick one up. I'll have to do it tomorrow.

Thanks Emmanuel.  We don't have Autozone here, but armed with that mfr and part# perhaps I can cross reference it to something, or chance it and pick up something near MME in Maine.

I was just there. My spring detached also.

I went to AutoZone and bought Stant 11329 $5.00 and it's been working great.

I'll secind getting a new one. When your dealing with heat and pressure, you don't want the old one shooting off under your hood. Take the old one with you and they match it.

Took my rad cap off just now and it came apart in a few pieces.  Seems the spring part let go from the cap.  Seems to all go back in there fine. Will it still work?  I have a few hours tomorrow to find one locally that is the same size. (and close to the same pressure rating-whatever that is).

Help !

MME awaits.
