This should be "Tuesday Funny"...

My Mini's are un-officially sponsored by Coor's brewing company.

TRACTION CONTROL!?!? what are you doing with a mini then?

I loved what Jackie Stewart said about the F1 rules change outlawing driver aids, including traction control:

Someone pointed out to him at the season opener in Australia that, for instance, Felipe Massa is one of 17 current F1 drivers who will have never raced an F1 car without traction control. He said something like, "If someone can't cope with being in charge of his own throttle, he shouldn't be in F1 anyway!"

Wait a minute, are you suggesting that I aim to increase my skill rather than augment my lack thereof using electronics?

How are we as a species supposed to learn to create better electronics if we don't use them to make ourselves lazier?

Jeez!

Maybe I have a bastard 850 but I was able to chiro tires in 1st to 2nd in the Moke. Now driving against headwind is another matter entirely. In that case I had to look at  the tach to make sure the engine was still working

If you lighten the pressure on the "go pedal" you'll get all the traction control you need.

I would think this would be very common due to the Honda import racing scene. I don't see what would be specific to the Mini about this - so you probably would find a huge wealth of information on sites dedicated to that scene (or sellers of Honda performance parts.)

Though, that might mean hooking up ABS sensors and electronics to the wheels - and that certainly would be Mini-specific. You can't have real traction control unless you have sensors to map wheel rotation rate versus actual forward velocity. Might need other sensors as well.

Life is like installing windscreens, it takes a lot of elbow grease and some personal lubricant.

Doing a VTEC conversion and wondering if there exists a secondary ECU for traction control to prevent wheelspin ... anybody heard of such a thing? Figured maybe TurboDave may have dabbled ...

Thanks in advance!
