The DPOs of this car when experiencing an overheating problem started taking things apart without a clear plan.  Currently there's a new radiator in the passenger seat and a new water pump in the boot.  My first tasks will be to replace those items (along with the missing bonnet prop) and get the engine started.  After that, I'm looking forward to borrowing the plasma cutter from work and cutting out what's left of the floors and showing my boys how to make sheet metal panels from homemade templates.

Thanks Doug... I appreciate the attempt.  It's just not the same w/o Soshman.  I remember him frequently referring to the Spitfire as a hairdresser's car as BRG said.

The potentially good news for us is that my sons' Godfather has almost every part for this car either stashed in his garage or in his house's crawl space.  He's really keen to help my boys learn.

No, they called it an old ladies car.  But then when I found one in the salvage yard with new tires on it and a hole in #3 piston ...  $30.00 later for one piston and a gasket set had a beautifully running spitfire.

Wasn't the Spitfire referred to as a hairdresser's car?  But then, don't mess with the Zohan.

"DOUG" you seemed so normal! Now I know how twisted you have become, wanting to torment a child.

There would that qualify as a flame (best I can do).

I have agreed to purchase a 1972 Spitfire.  This is a project car.  My intention is to work on it with my sons in much the same manner that Tim Suddard of Classic Motorsports is working on one with his son.  This brings our stable to two Triumphs and one Mini.

It's been months since I've seen any posts by Soshman.  I wish he were still posting so he could flame my decision.  He hated Spitfires.
