After re-reading, I'd bend the sides up at 3/4 or 8/9 o'clock - not the where the washer covers the crank key.

Thanks for that John. Never would've thunk that. Although my pulley looks different (it's just a humble 848) , it's got similar depressions. I'll also use some Loctite. Suspenders and a belt theory.

Note at 12 o'clock the pulley center has a depression into which the washer can be bent down. The other side bends up against the bolt flat.

Yes, but folding up the sides of the washer wouldn't really do anything now would it? There's nothing keeping the washer from spinning it's not keyed to anything. Come on guys. Someone has had to go throught this before.

Put the washer on then bend or fold up 1-2 sides to 1-2 flat sides of the bolt. The springs? Not sure how about a phot, maybe I can figure it out. Thank You in advance! TTT How on earth did this drop to page two? There's times when silence is golden...This isn't one of 'em. Somebody has to have bought/used this locktab.

I have one of the front pulley "locktabs" as found here: http://www.minimania.com/web/Item/12A398/AddedFrom/Search/InvDetail.cfm Is it supposed to act like a "bellville washer" and relies on the collapse of the dish shape to lock the bolt? (does't seem real positive to me) Or, does it go on with the dish facing the bolt head? (doesn't seem like it would do anything a flat washer wouldn't accomplish) Also the return springs on the twin leading system seems to have been updated. (All of my parts manuals only go up to '64) I have a set of these: http://www.minimania.com/web/like/y/item/AAU8243/invDetail.cfm The ones that came off the car had a coil at each end and a different shape to the hooks. Just like what's shown in my manuals.... I think I have these sorted out. I installed them with the spring end going under the shoe at the pivot end and the end without the spring going next to the adjuster. Anyone have a picture with these installed? Thanks, Zip
