I wasn't looking to buy from him, I just see that he offers up a lot of sketchy cars and wondered if he had any sort of a reputation. I bought my first Mini last fall from a private seller that I found on the MM site. Although my Mini is quite ugly right now, it is relatively rust-free and has a decent engine. I just like scanning other cars for sale to compare quality/price to mine - or if they are nice, make some mental notes on what I would like to do to my car.

The odd one is still around Pete - I just bought a low mileage City E for peanuts.

Scary crap like that makes me want to go back into business. Sadly there is not a decent car to be found on this side of the pond for anything near fair money, use the advice to find a car in the states. peter

No more cars left, Westpaminis is now just a memory, Good luck to all those hard working dealers left out there, We can tell you its not easy. We have fully enjoyed meeting all the fine folks we have in the business.

I would run from that car. That rust has not come in just the last few months. Find you a good car from a private seller here in the cars for sale section.

Pigs have now flown. Miniguy is still selling cars.

That's interesting Alex.  I didn't know any of that, but was just referring to at least a pair of colorful characters who sold used Minis out of the Carolinas.  One of them was convicted of crimes and did some time.  The other one.....well, I think that most board members know the one I am talking about.  You know.  The one who hated tire kickers.

SC is easy to ship into as Charleston is a major port.
It also doesn't have a State Inspection (as it would infringe your civil liberties) so titling any old PoS is relatively simple. Read into that what you want.

I should point out that NOT ALL cars with an SC title are all bad - I title mine there as FJC lives in state !

I have personal experience dealing with Turkys and I recommend not trusting him. He is a used car dealer, the kind that earned the reputation. I have a car to prove it, but there is more to that story. I'm still too upset about the whole thing to go into details.

He MAY have some decent cars, don't know. If there is an interest in one, examine first hand every nook and cranny twice. Listen to his stories for the fiction they are.

      Thanks

The Carolinas seem to have attracted more than their share of scrutiny of used Minis for sale.  Has anyone else noticed that?  Hmmmmm.

As I occasionally scan eBay to browse the Mini selection, I frequently see cars offered by Turky's in SC. Has anyone ever dealt with them? The only reason I ask is because his cars alwasy seemed to be priced pretty high, considering the condition they are in most of the time. His latest offering seems to really top the scale though... He claims that this car had no rust 8 months ago - but because it sat outside, "a couple" of rust spots started to appear. Looks like half the car is eaten away in his pics - and it has a bad respray on top of that.

I know that there are dishonest dealers out there, but this guy often gets quite beliggerant with people asking questions. I was just curious if anyone has ever dealt with them or if anyone in "the know" knows to stay away from shady deals like those.
