I found an expensive scissor jack at one of the parts stores around here that works great. Lower profile than a bottle jack and easily lifts the car to change a tire. dan "I don't know much, but what I do know I know little of "

Agree with CC. The OEM jack is the best for the road...provided your sills are healthy (they should be) and that the hole for the jack is still big enough after previous sill work. (Found out that one the hard way.) Bottle jacks are usually pretty useless for flat tire work. Won't fit under the corner of the car when the tire is flat.

If your sills are sound an OEM jack is great. I put the jack end fitting on my floor jack so I can lift both sides at once. My Traveller doesn't have the fittings for an OEM jack but I found a Porshe 928 sicissors jack made of aluminum.

I don't care for the original jack either and was running around with a small trolley under the back seat but it's too heavy, so I went to the local junkyard and picked through a few cars to find a good scissor jack. Nice and light and takes little space.

i have a small cisor jack that obviously came with another car but it works well and its smaller than a trolley jack. and it will slide under the subframe even if the tire is flat.

I have the original jack with my mini, which I am not so keen on using. I am not sure that my sills would still be able to support the car - at least it doesn't seem like a good thing to me anyway... I've been using my hydraulic tolley jack while parked in the garage, but I think I'm playing with fire by not having something to carry with me in the car. What is anyone else using? I was thinking of using a 2 ton hydraulic bottle jack from AutoZone (it is their smallest/cheapest one), but I am open to any other suggestions. Don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things.
