Excellent "How too" here http://www.theminiforum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=9808&hl=gearbox With the authors permission I have produced this in a pdf file of nearly 5 Mb It was hosted on a site but the site was hacked and the area where it is located is yet to be fixed. Anyony wanting the pdf file I can send it via email. I recently used this article to rebuild my first gear box and it all came together perfectly.

Would anyone in the area be willing to offer up a patch of floor or a backyard for pitching a tent on Friday night and possibly Saturday, depending on what time we finish up?  I'll be going to Knoxville from Rochester, NY, so I'll probably be arriving pretty late on Friday night.

my just-arrived June 2008 issue of Mini Magazine has the first part of a multi-part series on rebuilding a rod-change gearbox.  Part 1 covered disassembly and Part 2 will cover reassembly.  Since there are many many similarites and shared parts between the rod-change and remote boxes, these articles should be useful to everyone.  Lots of useful photos.  As mentioned previsously, the 1380 engine build DVD by Bill Sollis also contains very useful sections on gearbox disassembly and rebuilding.  This site: http://www.minifilms.co.uk/a-seriesbuilder.html  presents the DVD and has a sample of the DVD (although it downloaded very notchily in my case).
