If I remember correctly, holes-yes, plugs-no. Carpet snaps riveted to top of small metal brackets that are spot welded to floor. Available from our host. 11.31.11.05 .40 Carpet Clip Mounting Plate, Mk1-5

I'll look tonight. I thought there were holes in the back wall of the cross-member that were inline with the captive nuts on the front surface. If I'm remembering this correctly and there are holes... my car did not have any plugs in them when I got it and it doesn't have any now. Doug L.

I have no hole on the crossmember in my MK1 or snaps for carpeting. Are you sure these aren't modifications from a previous owner? Prez, Mini Owners of America, Los Angeles

Redoing the interior of my Mk1 & see that the middle frame (side to side) should be painted body color. My question is that I see a large, nickle sized hole on the passenger side top of the frame. Is this hole to be left open or plugged? If plugged, rubber plug or something else. Thanks!
Oh, also, where the carpet snaps are on the sides, under the door frame, are the base snaps attached with a screw or a pop rivet? Thanks once more!
