There is a Best Western and a Ramada Inn on PCH at the north end of Huntington beach, just north of Warner Ave. I'm sure they are much more affordable! R Prez, Mini Owners of America, Los Angeles We just added a block of extra rooms at our special rate for MMW! If you still haven't booked your room or sent in your registration, you are running out of time! The Hyatt is a nice hotel. But it is not skinflint friendly. If that is where you end up, you better at least call and say hi QS! That hotel is about 1/4 mile from my current place. Portofino in RB is expensive in my book. I've stayed there several times on company business and we've gotten group prices in the $150 range. I think the standard room rate is around $230 a night and more on weekends. Real nice place to stay though being so close to everything in the southbay but not for the budget minded. dan

Quick, here's what my SoCal writer friend at Sunset magazine says:
There's actually a decent Hyatt right across from the beach in Huntington Beach and I think the Portofino in Redondo may not be that expensive but I haven't actually stayed in either one.

I am bringing the team on a sojourn to SoCal this summer. Can anyone reccomend a nice safe friendly hotel near the beach (HB,NB and thereabouts) that will be easy on the wallet? Gracias. ------------------ QuickSilversVille
