All the rockers line up over the valves, but I will double check the pushrods. It is a bad feeling driving and having a bit of valvetrain noise when you know it's not right. I thought with the roller rockers it would be less noise.

Check the pushrods for clearance around the hole's in the cylinder head & make sure all rocker arms sit sorrectly over the valve head. ( Not offset )

Ouch.. Thanks guys, I will check the clearance on the valve cover. I am using an aftermarket alloy cover. Wish I hadn't bought the 1.5's but I bought them a long time ago before I kept reading on here about people not liking them.

1.5s hit the alloy finned rocker covers on the MPI. You have to use stock or 2 V cover gaskets.

I'd double check the valve clearances (insure the locknuts are tight also) and look at the valve cover-you didn't say if it was after market or stock.  I recently installed 1.3 rollers and had to go back to a stock valve cover because of clearance issues.  Other than that, don't know.  Could be that you are used to the valves being set at .012 plus the exhaust manifold is of thinner material, so more valve noise will be noticed...

So, I finally got my SPI back together and it seems to have more valvetrain noise than before. I used an SW5 cam and 1.5 roller rockers. Set them to .015" and I thought I checked for coil bind, which said to have at least .060" between the coils when the valve is open and I had more than that. Seems to have more clearance in the middle of the springs than the top or bottom if that's normal. What's the procedure on that?

Am I missing something, or is this setup a bit more noisy than normal? I didn't see anywhere that the rocker had been hitting the cover. I also used a maniflow exhaust manifold so I may be hearing more noise with that as well. Thanks, Todd
