Happy Mothers' Day to all of our Mothers, wives and lovers!! 

Got to thinking a little something odd was going on today, neighbours getting ready for a "do", prepping the rear deck, setting out chairs...then it hit me it's Mothers' Day.  That explained why I had been cleaning up the big debris blown onto the vegetable garden, had cut/edged the lawn, weeded the few dandelions, and , yes...somewhere in the deep recesses was an awareness that if the wifey had been home we would have done something special.

But...she's on a train to Aquas Calientes in Peru after climbing all over Incan ruins at Pisac and Ollyantayambo yesterday.  So, we'll collect her at YVR on the 15th.  I guess she'll get a belated Mothers' Day brunch at Van Dusen Gardens on Saturday the 17th during Vancouver's big All British Field Meet.  Hmmm, two good things on the same day.
