Easily Add Power with Tunit Tuning
Tunit provides an efficient and adaptable method of enhancing a vehicles performance (power and torque) without the need to alter the vehicles original equipment or programming. The advantages of the Tunit are; adjustment for optimum efficiency (both manually, by the customer and electronically, via a PC by a distributor), flexibility, as in movement from one vehicle to the next and ease of installation. The principle of Tunit is to provide all these advantages that previous methods of tuning such as EPROM replacement and "flashing" or OBD tuning could not.

Looks great Mart!

It looks like you dont have the rear seal installed yet, if you have the seal tool with the protective sleeve, that is the easiest way to install it. If not tape up the primary gear splines with some masking tape, just over the edge of the seal surface (so you can get the tape back out) and carefully install to not bend the seal lip back as it slides over the primary gear.

Also when you install the engine, when tilted the tappet cover with the breather on it gets in the way, much easier to leave it off until the engine is installed.

Great job, you will enjoy it a LOT more than the 998!

Cheers, Andy

Like the color scheme Mart, just wondering why you did not go with Habs colors, Eh?

They look more like a Bruins colors.  Did you lose a bet with someone?

yeah, i've been thinking about doing that, especially since the car its going in already has a good 998 in it and is used daily... since it IS my first build, i'm expecting some problems!

Another suggestion is to put the radiator on it, the carbs, exhaust etc.., hook it to a fuel pump and a can of petrol and fire it up on the floor.  Put a piece of carpet under it and hook up the oil gauge also, you might want to hook a muffler to it too.  Saves a lot of trouble if there is a problem.

Another suggestion is to make sure you put the speedo cable on the gearbox side before you install the engine.  Much easier to do on the bench than after the engine is in situ.

Best of luck Mart, it looks great. I too recently built my first motor -- the satisfaction of going through all the work and seeing a beautiful end result is priceless. The tweaking is a bit frustrating.

A suggestion: even if you install the engine with the radiator off (I don't), trial fit it before the engine goes back in. Sometimes the spacing on the tropical fans needs a little fine tuning. It's much easier to do so on the bench than in the car...after you've tried to start it and find that the fan is hitting the shroud!
