Easily Add Power with Tunit Tuning
Tunit provides an efficient and adaptable method of enhancing a vehicles performance (power and torque) without the need to alter the vehicles original equipment or programming. The advantages of the Tunit are; adjustment for optimum efficiency (both manually, by the customer and electronically, via a PC by a distributor), flexibility, as in movement from one vehicle to the next and ease of installation. The principle of Tunit is to provide all these advantages that previous methods of tuning such as EPROM replacement and "flashing" or OBD tuning could not.

So for transporting cars, we chose the transport boat, with an arrival at the port of Chicago.

Regarding your proposal to provide us with maps, etc. ... I will be delighted!
The route is almost definitive, but if we offered to help, we accept with great pleasure!
Of course, if some of you want to join us for the entire journey, or only for parts, you're welcome, it will simply tell me early enough to expand reservations for visits and hotels!

All your ideas are important to me, because I really want to support the Europeans who participate a great and beautiful adventure, and especially their prove that the USA, and the Americans are not as they are presented through french and Europe medias.

I dream of one day live in the USA, for my retirement! I love your country and your history, and I really want this trip  makes many enthusiasm that me!

But I don't speek English very well, it's a challenge!!!!

Sebastien & Samuel,

I recently moved to the St. Louis area from the UK and my cars were shipped to Pontoon Beach, IL, across the river from St. Luois.  Shipping the cars there might be a cheaper option than flying them into Chicago.  Then it is a short (4.5 hours) drive to Chicago.

We took a trip to the Grand Canyon and took some pictures of pieces of Route 66 along the way.

In this picture, the old road passed through what is now the Petrified Forest National Park, you can still see the telephone poles that mark the road, which is totally overgrown.

If you email your address, I can mail you some atlases and maps to help you plan (no charge).  My wife and I are contemplating joining in for the trip, since I retire in 2010!

This thread shouldn't get burried, or a new one should be started periodically. We have until 2011. I don't see where they have really pinned down the dates. But thinking way ahead, there might even be an opportunity to have a MME somewhere along the start of Rt 66, and a MMW at the other end. Then we all have three years to get our cars ready to make it a real parade from MME to MMW.

darn, I just re-read the earlier parts of this tread (I usually never post without reading the rest, but this one time I just "jumped right in").

they are flying their cars directly to Chicago and starting from there, so I guess my offer was a silly one since they are not coming anywhere near here.

ah, well.

Depending on when you plan to be in Las Vegas, you could join up with Mini Vacation in Las Vegas. The event has mostly new MINIs but there were quite a few classics at the last one. They organized a lot of fun driving events. Check out my pics from the last event if you're interested.

Batman, I will send you an email with my address in South East Michigan, I don't know if you will be this far north (if you land in New York City and head towards Chicago, I will be right along your way, less than 1 hour north of I90, the major, northern interstate in the US). You are welcome to use my home as a stopping point (I am about 10 hours west of NYC, if you travel by interstate. More like 12 or 16 hours if you go by surface roads.

I have a full garage with work pit, tools, compressor, welder, etc. etc. (but no lathe or mill, though I do know people with them for use if the need did arise). I also know someone who can speak French, "just in case".

My home is in beautiful Ann Arbor, "a breath of fresh air in the flat, dull midwest". ":o)

For our American friends!

Thank you for the link, I'll get contact with them, perhaps we could see to do a tour with our mini! I was looking for this kind of thing in Las Vegas!

Of course, all those who want to join us for part of Route are welcome!

At the same time, while some are experiencing good garages along the road to treat our ministers in case ....

Some pictures of our minis:

batman, domage que vous ne puissiez venir au Quebec, Montreal est a environ 20h de route de Chicago... mais bon, une chose a la fois! si vous avez besoin d'aide avec la traduction faites moi signe. et si vous pouvez, montrez nous quelques photos de vos minis, ça fera plaisir a tout le monde... je vous suggère aussi de voir avec notre Hôte, MiniMania, si il ne serait pas interessé a vous commanditer d'une maniere ou d'une autre, faut voir! Bonne chance avec les préparatifs!

I spent the last 2 days driving on the section of existing route 66 out in western oklahoma for a photo shoot.

Hard to imagine so many people taking that route out to California in the day.

I've driven my mini from Oklahoma City to Stroud many times. That section just begs for a car the size of the mini.

This will be a "don't dare miss it" opportunity to share with Batman and his friends from France.

the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas has a pretty big car collection, and might be open to photographing the cars in front of the casino. It's right on The Strip.

In Arizona they have their annual Fun Run around the time that you maybe visiting.  That would be great to see a bunch of Minis on that run.  Last time I went on the fun run there were almost 500 cars.

OK, I take note!

We have already people to Saint Louis and to Albuquerque! It's very cool!

I want to know if it would be possible to see to park cars from the start of 66 in Chicago (front of the Art Institute maybe?), and in the arrival on the pier of Santa Monica.

You think that it is possible?

I also look for an insurance for cars on the American ground, because the European insurances do not insure on your continent.

Another thing, I shall have wanted to see with a Casino of Las Vegas to park the mini in front of  one of them, it would be a great memory! Do you know which one would may play the game?!?
