Hi folks,
Thanks for all the responses!
I ordered the park switch. I'm 99.9% sure that's the problem. The motor runs just fine and smooth and I couldn't get the old switch apart to clean it up or anything without destroying it so a new one is the only way to go.
Thanks again!

The white plastic external wire connection is also part of the mechanical self-parking switch. As mur says, there is always power to the switch when the ignition is on -- via a green wire, as I recall. The plastic connector/switch is notorious for failing. Depending upon your car and the position of the wiper motor, you may be able to remove it without removing the wiper motor.

The thing about wipers is that there is no such thing as off. you have PARK, SLOW AND FAST. When it parks, there is a switch inside the gearbox of the wiper motor that shuts off when the wiper motor is in the park position. It is likely stuck. Get a good quality manual and remove the wiper motor and fix this. This is a good opportunity to learn how to learn how to fix things.

Only drive in the rain? Geez Mike, that wasn't much help.... Who wants to buy my Series II 88"-Land Rover so I can buy Alex's "BETTY" ? ~ 30 minutes in a Mini is more therapeutic than 3 sessions @ the shrink. ~ Mike NB, Canada

Hello all!
I ended up in a sprinkle today and had to use my wipers for the first time.
The wipers turned on and both speeds worked just great BUT..... They would not turn off without killing the engine.
Any ideas? It's a '92-spec Mini, by the way.
My old '66 Beetle that I sold to buy this Mini did the same thing. ha ha ha
Thanks in advance.
