Dear me, but this engine sure sounds like the one that was pushed in my face in 2006 for over $10,000 by a person badly in need of mouthwash or major dental care. Must be another motor, sure, must be. Either that or the downturn in the economy has also affected race motors. I certainly hope not.

when I would pass people at full 10 ,500 red line after they would say what the hell do you have in there , its sounded like nothing you have ever heard , To get 10,000 rpm plus I used a special 76 mm crank farinton? spelling ? made for me , carrilo rods and special pistons , we spent tons of time on the head , don sobering had lots of work in it I remember he was flabergasyted when the head flowed 25.5 cfm , but to make the power I needed a big flow and very small combustion chamber in the head , I would plane them down till we were into the spark plug hole. the suprising thing was how long they lasted , typicaly a full race 1300 will lass a year or so if the driver realy pushes, the three engines i made , and get this total bill for the three engines was 70k, but i ran them for 6 years and only went through two engines, and won most races , the moke ran against big iron like mustanges and gt40's and won 58 percent of the time and had a 85 percent podium record.
