MaryP, here are some things to consider: Roof Rack: High load rating Solid fitment but: Must lift high Wind resistance will affect mpg Expensive Rear Rack: Less expensive Easy to mount bike Removable Less mpg affect but: May scratch surface if not clean Can't use rear wiper Can't open rear hatch with rack in place To alleviate the 'scratching' problem, you might attach semi-permanently, some 3M clear vinyl at the mounting points. You might find aftermarket roof racks that cost less, but they will have less load rating and they attach to the plastic rain gutters which is not as durable. The Hitch Mount rear rack is a good alternative - see NMX1500 for the hitch. You can use almost any 1-1/4" hitch mount bike rack with this setup. Good luck! Ken
