That is very reasonable of you. Thank you for accepting my apology. I realise I made a mistake, and rather than letting it fester I don't mind admitting it and saying a genuine sorry in public. Sometimes a faceless and impersonal internet service tempts folks to post daft things with subsequent and unfortunate retaliation. Its nice that there are other people out there who appreciate an attempt at resolution, and are considerate at the same time. I think circumstances this weekend have brought it home to me that life is too short to cause deliberate irritation; we must treasure our relationships, enjoy our Minis, and make the most of every day. Thanks, Suzy. Clubman & 1275GT - its hip to be square!

Hello Suzy, Yes I was annoyed to find the link to Ebay and yes I have taken some childish satisfaction annoying you. . Unfortunately you chose to piss off the wrong person. I would have turned up and asked for an apology face to face.
I accept your apology and hope this is the end of the matter
On a personal note, I am sorry to hear of your loss and hope that you and your family are coping . Thanks Amy/Clive

Nickelback-animals, I posted this in reply on the topic you started, but the Message Board moderators deleted the whole thing, so I shall repeat what I wrote. I sincerely regret I've inadvertantly pissed you off, and will make sure I learn from this and mind my manners in the future. We've had a death in the family over the weekend which is why I haven't had the time to follow this up until now. I am sorry for posting a link to your auction. It was not meant as a personal slight, but looking back I can see the contention caused by my comments (above). I apologise to you. I’m glad you got the price you wanted for your car, and that you have a different project now. Suzy Clubman & 1275GT - its hip to be square!

Agreed! However, I must add that I live in a house with a 13 year old girl and the Emo craze is driving me nuts. Back to the subject: It cracks me up when ebay sellers get so crabby in their ads! I don't understand it. Do they really think sounding like a jerk is going to attract business??? -Eugene I dig it. Want a Mini Quickie? Another Quickie??

Bidding at the last minute is the best way to buy on an Ebay auction. You determine your absolute highest price that you would want to pay, and drop that bid. Yeah, sometimes you miss it by a few cents, but you don't get caught up in the excitement of bidding and spend way more than you wanted to. I think the reason Suzy started this thread was the seller's frustration with the way the system actually works. I guess they thought once on Ebay, that people would be bidding day in and day out throughout the auction. BTW, how does folks watching the auction = a negative? Suzy didn't say the seller was doing anything wrong, but that the seller was just frustrated and acting like a brat.... if I don't get some bids soon I'm gonna just end the auction! Bottom line was the seller expected more that she was getting in bids and that was why she was frustrated. Should have used a Reserve and that would have taken care of the bottom line. Also, it appears the reason for selling was a fraud as well, since it was advertised as being sold due to illness. Funny thing is that after this one sold the seller went out and bought another one that they will be selling soon. Go figure.

Kerr, I agree totally,we all have different ways of doing things. On UK ebay if I'm REALLY wanting something I'll watch, then bid with 20 seconds left. Only problem with this method is it leaves you no time to re-bid if you've underestimated Due to the Financial Downturn, the Light at the End of the Tunnel must now be switched off.

this reminds me of how you chased young Amber off of this web site.
I think that your comments were mostly made in fun, but reading them always made me feel like you were ganging up on her and she must have been made to feel VERY un-welcome here.

Watching an auction is hardly aggrivating. If nothing else, its raised the profile of the sale. If you don't understand the seller's peculiar statement, you won't get the irony. Don't worry about it. Clubman & 1275GT - its hip to be square!

I am not understanding these tactics. She states she is selling due to illness. Why aggrivate her on this?

Well obviously we've perked his interest, because with only 11 hours to go, its still for auction, contrary to "If no bids with 1 day to go I will have to remove this item". Lads - we have performed a valuable public service with doubling the watchers! He thinks he still has hope. Has anyone got any questions for him? Clubman & 1275GT - its hip to be square!
