Easily Add Power with Tunit Tuning
Tunit provides an efficient and adaptable method of enhancing a vehicles performance (power and torque) without the need to alter the vehicles original equipment or programming. The advantages of the Tunit are; adjustment for optimum efficiency (both manually, by the customer and electronically, via a PC by a distributor), flexibility, as in movement from one vehicle to the next and ease of installation. The principle of Tunit is to provide all these advantages that previous methods of tuning such as EPROM replacement and "flashing" or OBD tuning could not.

As someone involved in organizing a large car event (AMVIV), I don't think that $125 is out of line for what you're getting.  At AMVIV we went the other way and have a $25 registration that basically gets you entered in the raffles and gets you the event book and a few giveaways.  Dinner tickets, state park entries, shirts and so on are ala carte, and I've had several payments approaching $300 for a family.  Organizing something like this is a huge amount of work and the locations you have to deal with are rarely free.

Id be already signed up if I wasn't going to be in Missouri all the week before.  Flying back into Vegas on Friday night and then getting into the Mini for a 5 hour drive wuoldn't make for the funnest weekend.  I'd be too tired  to enjoy it.  Next year, hopefully.

Emmaco,

I will be more than happy to explain...

The event is being held in the city of Irvine, which is located in the heart of Orange County, California. This is one of the nicest areas in So California.

The main event is being held at the Irvine Marriott Hotel. This is a top notch hotel which is located minutes away from some of the best attractions California has to offer (check www.minimeetwest2008.com for details).

All the parking is included in the registration costs (the parking charge is usually between $8-10/night). We have made arrangements with the hotel to have a large dedicated area for all the festivities, the pool will be open late for us, the hotel will have a bar set up at the car show, the banquet and the pool.

Our banquet is being held in a brand new dedicated building on the hotel property. The winning cars will be displayed at the banquet. We have also planned for some additional entertainment for the banquet. In order to secure this area we had to commit a substancial amount of funds.

We have also reserved a very large area for the Autocross (the cost for this type of an area is very high) which is located minitues from the hotel. There is a substancial cost with securing this type of an area for this event. It is also being held in the heart of Orange County and not somewhere in the boonies.

We have looked at the option of having the meet in a location that is not as nice and offering less, but made the decision that the extra $25-30 is well worth the difference (I paid $95 for the last meet I attended).

Please keep in mind that the area in which the event is held is one of the most expensive areas in the entire country.

Hope that explains it!    ...and I hope that you come out and join in the festivities!

Boris

I'm sure MOALA can explain, but I expect to pay the full registration fee because I will drive my Mini +1,100 miles each way to attend and will take part in the whole Mini Meet, every event, every venue.  Hope you will come too!

All those Minis and Cars and Coffee. In spite of the amazing cars that usually show up, I bet 50+ Minis ("classics" would draw the biggest crowd!

No Pete,

Your daughter was just over 1 year old in 2004, you brought the family and a lovely Aussie "S" to Victoria in 2003.

We will be heading south to visit friends, attend MMW and camp on the homeward trip, maybe in the Sierras and Rockies, maybe on the Pacific Coast too.

In 2002, a group of us convoyed from Sacramento and got to the meet hotel on McCarthur Blvd. after midnight.  I'm bringing a whip south so we get the convoy in before dark in 2008!

Look forward to seeing everyone there....

Tori,

You are correct... The registration cost is $125. This is the amount needed to cover all the expenses that we are incuring putting on the event. Even if the event is a complete sell out we will still need a substantial amount of funds from sponsors and vendors to cover all the expenses.

lease keep in mind that this event is being held in one of the most expensive areas in the country (Southern California, Orange County).

The hotel is a top notch hotel!

The parking is included (normally a $7-10/night charge at this venue).

The registration cost includes a banquet at a stand alone venue (that is an entire dedicated building on the property) that will be reserved for our group and no one else!

Autocross will be held in a large, secure area with plenty of space for everyone

We have a large space for a car show that is dedicated for our group only!

We are providing a T-Shirt for those that preregister

Dedicated area for the kids along with a Pizza Party

There are a number of other events planned and all of this takes lots of time and most importantly money! I recall paying around $100 the last time I went to MMW and I thought it was a bargain for what I got. Asking folks to pay $125 to help cover out costs is not out of line. The normal charge for the banquet at the venue we are in is $65-75/per person, add the expense of renting a huge area for the autocross in the heart of Orange County, equipment, insurance, Lunch, space for car show, trophies, etc and etc and you will see that this is also a bargain!

While I understand your concern on the increase in the cost of registration, I hope that you find a way to save up the extra funds and come out and join us for a great time! I really think it will be time and money well spent!

Did i read right,.....  registration is going to be $125  ?      Id love to come,  but that might just keep me from making the trip even as short a drive as it will be.

69Mini - The Fair grounds is unavailable to us because of construction and because they are beginning the fair earlier this year. We have listed a few RV Camp sites on the Extended Stay page on the website. We will be adding more options as we find good locations and facilities.
