I think I've got a new hero! Over 5500 miles in an 850 Moke, pulling a camper, ALONE!

Of course, we were all along for the ride in spirit.

Thanks for the ride, Bob!  The pleasure wasn't ALL yours! Did you remember to get a speedometer shot at the end?

And thanks to minigma for keping us posted.

Glad you are home safe Bob-thanks for all the photos and the trip reports.  I nominate you for the "longest trip taken in a 850 Moke" award....and towing a trailer as well!  Eric

And if it's anything like my experience, there won't be any apology for waylaying his travels and wasting his time.

While I sat sweating in 100 degree weather, my Trooper was in his air conditioned car making a call back to headquarters.

Whoa...considering he was taking the beach route, if he's already in Myrtle Beach, he made really good time today.

The only cop story I have is the one I previously mentioned about the pull over in New Hampshire. Nothing more to report on that except for the part when Bob was very slowly and methodically rumaging through the vehicle for the registration, while the trooper was looking on. He tried real hard to make sure the cop was absolutely certain that it wasn't a gun he was digging for.

Scargo, you forgot to mentoin getting pulled over by the police? What's the story on that?

After appropriately spending last night in Pocomoke City, Md. (pronounced Poke-O-Moke) Bob is hunkered down for the night in southeastern, VA., and is headed towards the Outer Banks of North Carolina tomorrow via a ferry. We spent the evening together with Lois and Ron Graham (formerly of 7 Enterprises) messing around a bit with Ron's hot rods before doing a dinner cruise in two MINI's. So far on this little jaunt Bob's covered 5,250 miles in the Moke and hasn't driven in the rain once. He's looking fit as a fiddle.

That may be possible, Quick. He had to dig all the papers he had to prove that it was not a golf cart.

I think Bob and I are setting a new trend here and a unique club of sorts.

there is nothing quite as hopeless feeling as driving in hard rainstorm and having all that water coming in from every direction.

Looks like Bob hit storms similar to the ones we hit coming back in the Moke from MMW. We had rain coming in through the side curtains, and up and under the front of the Roof!  It was like that for most of the two hour drive up the I405 and I5. Keep on Mokin' Bob..it's fun to see the journey...Mike

Let Bob know that if he decides to take the coast route south of Jersey and Delaware, passing him thru the eastern shores of Maryland & Virginia, he's got a place to stay here in Virginia Beach after crossing the 18 mile long Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. Email me if he decides to do so.

Kristina is right. That's the first thing I thought of when looking through the pics. Where's the moke. Anyone could have taken those pics.
