I think she will do ok on this being she already has fresh suspension parts and brakes/lines/etc waiting in the garage. It should take shape rather quickly.
So how's the refurbishment going?

the ex racer moke is not that heavely modfied  , the fuel cell is exactily a copy of the original fuel tank and in the exact same location and cost almost 2k , I still have the seat mount which is not that hard  to put back,  as the car is 100 percent rust free , its much easyer conversion then  one of the rust buckets I see selling ,   the roll cage as been reduced  ( took 1 hour )  so its a roll bar and two side intrusion bars just at the side pod level  , again 1 hour and they are cut off  if you do not want better side protection.    the rest of the body is 95 percent stock,  the cut out for the carb is also easy to remove  and a flat plate welded back.    And the modificatons to the suspension are exactily what everyone does to their mini , add 8.4 brakes, hi lows  spax shock's  lenthened botom arms, adjustable rear camber. minifin rear brake. s.s brake lines, braded fuel line , sweedish bump stops    new  higher rated rubber donuts, "s" hubs and drive shafts for pot joints , 13 inch ausi rear arms for the big tires,  RH drive steering rack   I have most of the removed lights and running gear .  the engine bay is preped  ready for a engine and very clean , the car has 0 rust , lots of history to brag about.  The sub frames   are new and the whole car  and very strong as they are seam welded.   it comes with 6 panasport rims and new tires worth close to 2k

"For some reason the UK mokes fetch tons more money than the other models."  To sum that up in a few words, they are far fewer of them than other Mokes, they are more basic than other Mokes, they are the original "anti-establishment Mini", and they are just much better.  The "little wheel" Mokes ride and drive differently than their bigger, heater equipped, side curtain hanging, nerf bar wearing brothers.

"the  ex race moke is a uk with ownership still can not sell it"  Hard to find someone that would want to make it back into a track car, and far too heavily modified to put back on the streets of Southhampton, IMHO.  Perhaps if you had not cut the metal box that the seats mount to, and hacked away the bulkhead for the carb?  Not to mention the added fuel cell, that would seriously deter someone from using it on the streets and hauling passengers.  Then there is the roll cage that you have to negotiate, etc.

When I got home from my trip, first order of business was to go and give Barb (the Moke) a hug.

Second was a call to my insurance agent to bump the coverage by a bunch.

For some reason the UK mokes fetch tons more money than the other models. Err. except yellow ones, for some reason they cannot be sold at any price, heehee. Peter

No more cars left, Westpaminis is now just a memory, Good luck to all those hard working dealers left out there, We can tell you its not easy. We have fully enjoyed meeting all the fine folks we have in the business.

You see what I'l talking about right there MTGibby? But this one is not a proper UK Moke but rather one of those gruff Aussie ones. I think also that you want a project to sink your teeth into.

A very wise Moke guru gave advice when I asked if the price I was paying for mine was fair.... "Mokes trade hands so rarely that any price the two partys agree to is a fair price."

Poolguy, you'll be into this for quite a bit when done. But they are so worth it.  Mine is so close to making vroom-vroom noises, I can taste it. Too bad I'm sitting in an airport in Texas while the Moke sits in the garage in Ohio.
